b-bye 2012, hellooo 2013!

the last post of 2012 should be a spectacular one. but i’m am on the run and i promise i will make up for it at the end of 2013, when i will probably have more exciting things to share with you!

i would like to thank each and every one of you for reading my blog, for the support and feedback; who would have guessed i would start a blog of nail art because of a silly nail polish obsession? i’ll try and do my best in 2013 in keeping flowynails updated constantly, in creating interesting and fun designs for you to enjoy.

for tonight i will be rocking some china glaze ‘pizzazz’ glittery tips, over a white base of maybelline colorama. i will post more pics next year (haha, i like using this expression), ’till then have a great new year’s eve, with a lot of booze and a sweet ol’ midnight kiss!

cheers to 2013!

last christmas post! [cross my heart]

this post should have been up for about 3 weeks or so, when the christmas nail art designs started appearing on the www. i forgot about the nail wheel and just last week i photographed them, but they weren’t on my priority list anymore cause in the meantime i did the christmas trees nails which i definitely fell in love with, and this is the story of how i managed to postpone the upload of  the christmas nail wheel. [TMI i know.]

i’ve tried to make it as fun as possible. as for my first attempt at the christmas inspired nail art i think i did pretty ok. some designs are great, others are bad and some are ‘ehhhh’…but all in all i had fun creating them and playing with the red/green/white color combo.

take a look at some more detailed pictures now:

christmas trees all over!

hi guys! hope you had fantastic holidays together with your loved ones, cause i certainly did.

for some years now though, my lazy parents stopped making the festive christmas tree, and believe it or not, christmas without a christmas tree is like painting your nails without applying the base & top coat. and that is why i created my own christmas spirit, this year on my nails.

christmas trees on the nails weren’t a big surprise in this years holiday nail art trend, but i don’t think anybody was that obsessed with christmas tress. i took ’em to another level. :))

random mix and match!

whenever i feel like doing something to my nails, but in the same time i am not quite inspirational or i am tired, i always go back to the classic mix and match animal print! this time it is a brown / black mix and match.

the light was pretty bad on that day and ever since i am postponing to write about these nails, due to the bad quality of the pictures.  Continue reading

friday night swatch: essie ‘off the shoulder’

if you didn’t know this already, i am a big ESSIE fan. even if i haven’t tried a lot of essie nail polishes until now, the ones i have used are my favorites. ‘off the shoulder’ is def. one of them.

spun sugar&dots!

i did these nails a few weeks ago, but i don’t know why i delayed this post so much! i said i had to try the spun sugar technique, as i have read so much about it and saw different manicures in different colors and combinations!

here are mine:

black&white overlapped dots

at first this should have been also a kinda ‘see-through striped mani’ but ended up being this:

the ‘sticking stripes to the nail’ part of the mani took quite some time, so i decided to do a little dotsy ‘job’ on the right hand. as i have never tried these overlapped dots, i said why not give it a try. i actually didn’t think it would turn out so interesting and fun as a result. you can also still see the ‘see-through’ parts of the nail under the dots.

here you have some more photos, as i can never commit to just one or two for one design 🙂
