neon matte spring [review]

i’m back guys. not for long, but i’m back for now 🙂

i’ve been m.i.a. lately, and kind of left the nails behind, but that doesn’t mean that my inspiration has left me hanging.

you know i’m all about colors (#allcolorseverything), so this post/nail art is really dear to my colorful heart ❤

black&white nails with a neon matte twist

so as i said, i am a sucker for colors, and i am a sucker for rhinestones, but when you get them both combined..well, nailgasm much?

i applied a white base color, but i wanted a bit of a twist, therefore the painter inside me did an abstract black spot on them nails. i applied the rhinestones without any nail glue, so they got stuck in the black polish (and stayed on there for like 1 week and a few days, #yeaymuch). i also applied top coat after i did the photos, therefore the matte effect got ruined, but hey the rhinestones stayed on for quite some time 🙂

and guess what, if you want to use the Round Square Fluorescent Dark Colors Stud Rhinestones Nail Art Decoration also, you can get them from BornPrettyStore, for only 2,99$/box, and you’ll get 12 different shapes (square and round) and colors.

You can also use the coupon code  ML5X31 at checkout, to get a 10% discount on your order. BornPrettyStore also offers free shipping worldwide.

graffiti fun day [review]

today’s post is a 3in1 review.

i really wasn’t inspired into creating this, but i went full on, managing to find my inspiration later on in the day.

let me start off with the base color of the manicure. i am all about colors, i am all about neon, but when that colorful neon nail polish also glows in the dark, well…it is to die for.  This Candy Color Fluorescent Neon Luminous Nail Art Polish is a lime neon polish (color no. 3), i used three coats, to fully reach a compact color. it turned out amazing, but i waited very long for it to completely dry.

here is BK fluorescent nail polish glowing in the dark.

i had difficulties photographing these nail in the dark, but managed somehow (i don’t even know how) to take this one picture (only one) to show you how they glow. just ah-mazing!! you could really scare someone in the dark with these… the nail phantom. buhuhuhuuuu! 🙂

here is the final result, after i used the Glitter Transfer Nail Roll Foils, and the Shake-me Pump & Use Nail Art Pen:

after i did these funky/graphic/ colorful/ arty nails i went out for a walk with my sis and niece and found a graffiti wall in the park, which had the exact same color combo painted on it, and then i was like, heeeey they stole my look, but it was the perfect location for this photo shoot 🙂

The glitter transfer nail roll foils were easy to apply, as soon as i figured out how to apply them. the last coat should be dried, but not completely dried, and it depends i guess from nail polish to nail polish, as i managed to apply them more easily over the Essie base coat, in comparison to the BK nail polish. But up to the last nail, the transfer was smooth. Use a top coat over the transfer foil, as i have tried a nail without top coat, and by the next day the foil was vanished.

As for the Shake-me Pump& Use nail art pen, i am confused. It worked just fine at the beginning, for the pinky on the left hand, but then i couldn’t do anything anymore. It just ruined the design on other nails. I shaked it, pumped it, and tried to use it, but it didn’t work. the nail polish was not dripping. and when it eventually came running out, it came out as a thick layer of polish. maybe i needed to shake it more? but i did shake it a lot..so this is why i am confused, the idea of the product is amazing, but in reality it’s not quite what it should be.

And if you want to have one of these products, you can get them from BornPrettyStore:

BK  Candy Colors Fluorescent Neon Luminous Nail Art Polish Glow In Dark Varnish 7ML for just $2.99/ bottle

– Dazzling Starry Mixed Metals Nail Art Roll Foils Glitter Transfer Stickers Paper UV Deco for just $2.99/ roll

black square stud rhinestones

the base of the manicure is a brown ombre. i applied a golden foil right before the base coat dried. the studs were really easy to apply, with the help of the ever helpful nail tip glue. you will have no problem of them falling off for 5-7 days.

you can try to apply top coat over the studs for an even better stay on the nails, but i didn’t use any for this manicure.

you can also get your own black stud rhinestones on bornprettystore at 5.84$/bag, in the Nail Art Decorations category, or this link below:

fruity fingers: fimo fruits review!

(spoiler alert: this post is gonna be extra colorful and tasty)

i have been wanting to use fimo sticks in my nail art for a long time. you can find all sorts of fimo stick designs, from flowers, to animals, or different logos, but in my opinion the fruit fimo sticks are the most delicious ones. I received this pack of fruit fimo decals from BornPretty Store, and had lots of fun trying it out.

photo (59)

The package comes with a wheel, which is great cause it is easy to use and carry around with you.

With 12 different fruits dangles, 10 pcs each, you have a lot of pieces to have fun with, apply on the nails, but also decorate furniture, phone& mp3 cases, glasses, or use for body art.

I decided to do a fun, colorful and tasty manicure with these fruit dangles:

glitter craze!

[spoiler alert: brace yourself for a loooong post!]

since the holidays, when i received two amazing china glaze glitter nail polishes (‘pizzazz’ & ‘glitter all the way’ from the holiday 2012 collection), i’ve been on a glitter craze. glitter mani for christmas, glitter mani for new year’s eve, glitter mani in between celebrations. like i said…glitter craze!

they are a mother****** to get off your nails, but they look amaze balls on the nails.

flocking (my way into the new year) powder

i wanted to use flocking powder(velvet on your nails, or chicken finger nails as some of my friends would call it 🙂 ) for some time now, and that is why i decided to make myself a flocking christmas gift from bornprettystore last year. after the new year’s eve i immediately got to work on the flocking powder nails.

it was an interesting process of making them, it took quite the time but they definitely looked great at the end.  Continue reading

Layla ‘ocean rush’ hologram effect – swatch and review

i recently received a christmas present from a romanian nail polish supplier, Beauty in the Bottle. the present contained two china glaze nail polishes, a color club nail polish, and this lovely Layla hologram effect nail polish.

photo (50)

it was the first time i have used nail polish with hologram effect and i didn’t know what to expect. i mean i saw ten’s of reviews and photos on these kind of polishes, but i have never seen it on my own fingernails. that is why i think i didn’t apply it correctly, as i haven’t experienced the hologram effect in fully. but the color looks awesome though, the formula is a little bit odd as it needed 3 coats for it to be fully opaque. the end result is fabfabfab! i would definitely buy more of these hologram effect nail polishes now. maybe from other brands also. what would you recommend me to buy?

here are some more photos of the ocean rush.

i also did a .gif image of this layla nail polish. check it out here. i love playing with .gif images, which are declared a form of art now a days.

stay tuned for some more designs and reviews as i did a lot of nails over these few holiday days.

friday night swatch: essie ‘off the shoulder’

if you didn’t know this already, i am a big ESSIE fan. even if i haven’t tried a lot of essie nail polishes until now, the ones i have used are my favorites. ‘off the shoulder’ is def. one of them.

china glaze ‘colors from the capitol’ collection

i got this collection one month ago, even if it launched in march in the us. getting a china glaze nail polish in romania is quite difficult. the price is twice as high and sometimes you don’t have the opportunity to choose a color. you just get what there is!

this didn’t work for me, so all china glaze nail polishes i own, i bought them from the us, online.

i absolutely enjoyed this twelve piece collection. it’s very ‘earthy’ and natural, duuhhhh it’s inspired by all the districts and their key component. i really needed a break from all the neon nail polishes, all of the bright and bold colors, all of the summer collections.
